Maison Martin Margiela's RTW Spring 2013 Menswear

I have received my daily dose of diversity, and my cup runneth over. Thank you, Paris. Thank you. Stark cold white warmed by crisp dark skin is how the designers at Maison Martin Margiela chose to open their Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear show. The elegance of men sporting espadrilles instead of shoes, drawstring pants the allowed only a sliver of ankle to be exposed, arms put on display due to the absence of sleeves, t-shirts coupled with tailored pants in a 'this is just what I do' sort of way. The intricate detailing of a waistcoat entirely made of patches, and shredded leather appropriately named "summer fur" made the 'laid-back but not too laid-back' vibe evident throughout the runway. While certainly not all guys will know what to do with a silver bib, I can respect the direction this collection headed in. And I certainly give my highest respect to the studio for putting together a show featuring all ethnic models.
